Decorating with Sofa Tables

A sofa table is sometimes also known as a library table and it is taller than a coffee table or end tables. It’s usually about the same height as a sofa and it is used behind the sofa and the wall or it can be used behind a sofa that is arranged with its back open to the room. In this way it is often used as a transition to a space or a place to set a lamp and other accessories. There’s nothing wrong with these traditional uses for a sofa table, but there are other decorative possibilities to explore, and they’re not confined to the living room or family room.

1.       Entry table-Offers a place to hold keys, mail, cell phones or other things that you use on a daily basis. The under storage can offer a place for shoes, scarves, hats and clear some place in your entry way. Also you could go more decorative and place a beautiful mirror behind it and place flowers or your favorite decorative object on top of the table.

2.       Kitchen Isle- In smaller kitchens with limited space this could be a life saver. It is just narrow enough to use as an island for chopping or cutting and underneath could store cookbooks or utensils.

3.       Bedroom- Use in place of a headboard for a convenient spot to place lamps, alarm clocks, books and more. In a small guest room you could replace a bulky dresser with a smaller prettier sofa table where guests could tuck away their belongings.

 

There are many different styles and themes of sofa tables as with all furniture. The key is to find what theme you are going for.

 

1.       Contemporary-The main concept behind this contemporary living space is belief in less is more and more functioning items. This means, having less furniture pieces and all furniture pieces truly fill the need.
